Men operating a Vacuum Press at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham 1961

Taken in 1961 by Adolf Morath, this photograph shows two men operating a vacuum press at Fort Dunlop. A pneumatic ram is being used to force the heavy airbag into the vacuum press and into the "green." Many of the large tyres made at Fort Dunlop were shaped using this method.
